State Funded Religious Education.

Just been reading about a proposed reform by the federal government in Australia, towards scaling back the degree of state funding of private schools.

A list was provided of the top 24 over funded schools and 22 of these were Christian. 10 Catholic, 9 Anglican, and 3 non denominational.

They have a standard known as the Schooling Resource Standard (SRS) and the aim is to scale back the funding to 80% of this leaving the schools to make up the shortfall themselves with school fees.

At the top of the list were 4 Catholic schools with the one at the very top scooping in a massive 196% of SRS. So how did this state of affairs come to be you ask? ........ well apparently some sweetheart deals have been made in the past.

As an atheist I don't believe in state funded education indoctrination at all.
