Greatest of Sun Journalist's, John Kay - dead

From the Sun's obituary before they modified it slightly

Quote:

After university in Durham he became a reporter on the Newcastle Journal before joining The Sun in 1973, covering industry. He later switched to news and in 1990 became Chief Reporter.

John wore immaculate tailored suits after being sent home to change on his first day at The Sun for wearing a sports jacket.

He always carried a neatly ironed handkerchief, which he used to dry the apple he washed with bottled water and ate every morning before phoning his father Ernest in Cambridge.

Yes there was something else that happened between 1973 and 1990. He strangled and drowned his wife and got off on the grounds of diminished responsibility

Still, the domestic violence leading murder, and his habit of inventing stories, and his apparent ignorance of the fact that it's illegal to pay public servants for stories were just forgotten by those who shared his values at the Sun
