A civil rights icon turns 99 today

Going through some of my late sister's notes on her brief career as a demonstrator for civil rights, I came across a little note that after one of her many arrests, one Gloria Richardson bailed her out the next morning.

Not one of the most recognized names in recent history, but Gloria Richardson (now Gloria Richardson Dandridge) was the leader of the movement to desegregate Maryland's Eastern shore, leading to an unusually comprehensive and historic settlement with the government of the town of Cambridge.

Here's a little youtube bit about her: [yt]VXyk13Vdxss[/yt]

And another: [yt]SfBtny9eGvg[/yt]

My sister died in 1976, but as her proxy tonight, I wish "Glorious Gloria" a happy 99th.
