I made the rookie mistake of replacing two of my computer's fans with much quieter ones. This is a problem because now all I hear is the other two fans, which I wouldn't have said were loud before now. They were whisper-quiet compared to the other two, yet now they seem to be roaring like jet planes.
The lesson is: replace all your fans at the same time. The new pair doesn't come until Thursday. I may need to employ earplugs until then.
