Columbine High School in lockdown

Columbine High School in lockdown over threats just days before shooting's 20th anniversary

Quote:

Authorities are hunting an "armed and dangerous" teenager suspected of making threats against Columbine High School, just days before the 20th anniversary of a mass shooting that killed 13 people.

The information prompted a lockdown at the high school and several others outside Denver in the United States.

All students were safe, school officials said.

The suspect, 18-year-old Sol Pais, travelled to Colorado on Monday night (local time) and made threats against the schools, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI said.

Authorities said the teenager was "infatuated" with the Columbine school shooting, the Denver Post reported.

Ms Pais was last seen in the foothills west of Denver, the sheriff's office said, and is considered "armed and dangerous" and should not be approached.

She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage pants and black boots.

Officials did not provide further details about the threats or say where she was from.
