A Jolly Easter To All

It is with amusement that I listen to the bleatings of the religious each year, when this time comes around. Cries of dismay about "the true meaning of Easter" being overlooked, as we see chocolate eggs and chocolate bunnies, commanding large areas on supermarket shelves.

Hot cross buns are there as well of course, (since December 26 I think), giving us a vague hint about the significance of a cross at this time. I quite like the fruity buns myself although the cross itself is not so palatable.

Now someone is seriously messing with the buns:

Food is a key feature of Sydney's Royal Easter Show, however one vendor's experiment this year with a tried-and-true recipe has a few patrons feeling a little cross.
Tony Ngo is a member of a family-run business that has courted controversy with its baking of rainbow-coloured hot cross buns.

Given that many Christians are not quite in step with the rainbow thing I suppose it's not that surprising.
