It has also become a major pollutant including islands of plastics in multiple oceans, microplastics in the food supply and the general difficulties in recycling certain types.
I watched a German documentary on the microplastics mainly curious on which types of plastic make that problem.
I was guessing the new bio/oxy/solar degradable types but the gal in the lab coat said PET and the type used in bottle caps. It floats around long enough it breaks down into tiny particles.
She never mentioned the fast breakdown types but I cannot imagine those are all rainbows and flowers once the particles enter the environment either.
Mexico will be joining the plastic ban nations in 2020, the one use items, drinking straws, shopping bags and the lot. Even one use PET soda bottles will be replaced with returnable bottles they say.
Where are you and what is going on there about this issue?
