The Witnesses & Hannah Hart

I have been watching Hannah Hart on YouTube for a long time. She started out making funny cooking videos called “My Drunk Kitchen”. She has gone on to make videos on other subjects as well as books, stage comedy, movies, television, and other projects. In her books and videos, she has discussed her life. Her father’s strict Christian values, her mother’s mental illness, becoming emancipated at 15, going to college, living in Japan, recognizing and accepting and experiencing being gay.

Now she is getting married. Her dad isn’t coming to the wedding, because he is a Jehovah’s Witness. Her publisher required that she remove the word “cult” from her memoirs. Her dad threatened that their relationship would be over if she spoke out against the Jehovah’s Witness.

She has decided that it is now time to speak out about the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the devastating effect the cult has had on her and her family.

In her video, she recommends watching a new two-part series titled “The Witnesses” that investigates child sexual abuse and cover-up within the organization and the effects the cult has had on individuals and families. I have watched it. I recommend that you watch it too. It is available at:
