Vegan restaurant gets Michelin star

I think that this is clear evidence of Veganism getting mainstream acceptance.

Quote:

A vegan restaurant in south-west France has been awarded a coveted Michelin star, the first of its kind in the country to receive the distinction.

ONA - which stands for Origine Non-Animale" ("animal-free origin") - in the town of Arès, near Bordeaux, is run by chef Claire Vallée.

Yes, the whole Michelin star thing is just a money-making exercise for both the guide and the restaurants featured in it. Yes, it's moved a million miles from its original objective - to guide hungry travellers. Yes, this could just be the guide attempting to make itself relevant but this does seem to be a clear indication that Vegan cuisine can be of the very highest quality.
