Amazon not building in NYC

Looks like the Everything Store is backing out of its agreement to open a HQ in NYC.

In a statement released by Amazon

While polls show that 70% of New Yorkers support our plans and investment, a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City.

They also made sure to thank their suckers...err supporters... NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio and governor Amazon Cuomo. I am thrilled this is embarrassing them both.

I'm all for bringing major corporate HQs but not with billions in tax breaks that don't pay for themselves as well as Amazon's well documented history of awful labor practices.
