I have a few questions after a short explanation. When my doctor x rayed my lungs the first thing he asked me was if I smoked. I answered no. He asked me if I had ever smoked. I said no. He declared me a lung cripple with COPD.
My question is this can a person not smoke and then when he quits doing lungs not regenerate? Why do doctors assume that a person with destroyed lungs automatically come to the conclusion that the person smoked sometime in their life?
I always have heard that if a smoker quits smoking in ten years he will be just as if he had never smoked??
