Off duty cops working in their cop uniform as private contractors walked off the job because players were wearing t-shirts that mourned recent deaths, including the two murders by police and the 4 murders by the Dallas shooter. As related n the linked article, the players message was reasonable by any standard, the cops were (typically) unwilling to accept any form of challenge to their absolute authority, the police union applauded the cops dereliction of duty, and the Chief of Police was disappointed.
We need a single, national police force. We need it badly.
