QEDCon - speakers announced

This year they're going for a less traditional line-up.

Quote:

QED: Question, Explorer, Discover

Mike Adams
Cruelly robbed of a Shorty award when ineligible votes were rejected, Mike Adams is a successful website writer and Health Ranger. There are many pages of words at his website “Natural News”. Mike will be talking about the censorship of the documentary Vaxxed, which has been outrageously suppressed by the Nazis. He’ll probably be rapping too.

Sylvia Browne
Sylvia’s return to this side has been met with some controversy. Many said “she’s gone, honey” but more the fool them. Sylvia has been enjoying a successful return to form up in the afterlife. She predicted the rise of Donald Trump and received many accurate messages from the beforelife on Earth which she delivered to the angels with her trademark empathy and subtlety. There was talk of guesswork, gambling with angels’ emotions and extensive use of Google, but these were unfounded. It’s unclear why the afterlife has sent her back to the beforelife. Something about cigarette smoke and mirrors.

Vani Hari
Vani Hari is a food blogger and Food Babe. Whilst good at both roles she thinks of herself as a journalist exposing the wrong-doings of the commercial food industry. This neatly coincides with a successful book writing and product endorsement enterprise which has been criticised extensively but also endorsed by acquiescence from those she criticises. She is expert in rallying popular opinion around her own ideas and interpretation of facts.

David Icke
David Icke is a former sports presenter who realised he was the “Son of the Godhead” in 1991. He now specialises in public speaking, having recently announced his world tour entitled “World Wide Wake Up Tour” which appears to cover an entire eight countries. According to his website he has also written “the most cutting edge books in the world”. Two of which are advertised on his website as a bundle deal called “Phanton Self/Perception Dececption Bundle” and includes two free typos. This deal saves you a whopping 95p over buying them separately.

Jenny McCarthy
Jenny McCarthy, like QED, has been a supporter of autism-related charities and causes. There are no other similarities as far as we can tell.

Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth has a website called Goop.com where she advocates on behalf of commercially or non-commercially interested parties. Services range from Jill Willard “who guided people through tapping into and translating gut instinct into greater knowing…” to recommending “track pants as trousers”. Consciously couple with Gwyneth at QED 2016.

Cristal Sumner
Cristal is Chief Executive of the British Homeopathic Association. According to her LinkedIn profile she has held this position since May 2000 (Statutory appointment from 2008 ref Companies House). She claims the following skills in her profile;
Business Planning, Strategic Planning, Business Strategy, Fundraising, Change Management, Project Management, Public Speaking, Nonprofits [sic], Organizational Development, Management, Training, Leadership Development, Marketing Strategy, Healthcare, Team, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Public Relations, Start-ups, Non-profits, Coaching, Stakeholder Engagement.
With one of those 21 skills having the word “health” in it, we’re looking forward to hearing more about her suitability as the head of the major homeopathic representative body in the UK.

Dana Ullman
Mr Ullman was described by Time magazine as “The Leading Proselytizer of Homeopathy” and has a popular regular column at the Huffington Post. Ullman is also a strong critic of “scientific medicine”. He appears to believe that the pharmaceutical medical industry is merely a money making machine. In a Huff Po article from November 17th 2011 he subtitles a portion of his article “Big Pharma, Big Bucks, and the Guise of Science”. Slam dunk!

Andrew Wakefield
Mr Andrew Jeremy Wakefield is a writer and director.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey is a 62 year old media professional. Having started out from the humblest of beginnings she commands great influence and respect from her audience. She has promoted some amazing people and products materially contributing to their success. From Obama to Dr Phil and everything in-between we look forward to being enchanted by her trademark “Oprahfication” and perhaps she’ll even tell us The Secret to her success.

David Avocado Wolfe
David is a “nutritionist” with a particular interest in GMO, chemtrails, flat earths, and airport body scanners. He has been described as the “rock star and Indiana Jones of the superfoods and longevity universe”. He has “circumnavigated the Earth for decades” and produces a range of chocolatey goodness called “Sacred Chocolate”. David is an enigmatic public speaker who demonstrates real conviction to his own beliefs.

Alex Jones
We are delighted to announce that our MC for QED 2016 will be Alex Jones. Alex is a successful radio broadcaster at infowars.com. With his distinctive voice and no nonsense approach he is sure to keep things squarely on track throughout the event. He has conducted many investigations including one into the Build-a-Bear Workshop. This topic alone once caused the foreshortening of a BBC interview which also featured past QED speaker David Aaronovitch.

Chris French
Chris French is psycholgist, author, and TV presenter who is well known to QED audiences. He is former editor of Skeptic Magazine and heads the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit at Goldsmiths University. Chris has kindly agreed to reprise his role as the token skeptic for QED 2016.
All guests appear subject to us winding you up. This only a joke. April Fools!
