It seems to me that conspiracy theories first began with the book of Revelation.
Ever since then, there have been texts and theories to fit in with Revelation. Look at this quote here attributed to William Guy Carr back in 1958.

More recently, we have the SyFy 3 part miniseries CHILDHOOD's END, which many Christians say is a blueprint for what is to come (I.E. Demons will come down pretending to help humans while preparing them for enslavement).
Does prophecy continue to shift to fit the book of Revelation? And do you think my theory of tracing conspiracy theories dates back to the Book of Revelation?

In 2003, an Englishman by the name of Michael Haupt [fig 1] launched [fig 2] his website threeworldwars.com in response to Jihadist terrorism and the American invasion of Iraq. Backed by the knowledge gleaned from a conspiratorial view of history and an obvious impending cataclysm, the words of William Guy Carr, attributed to Albert Pike, seemed to precisely predict the dire circumstances unfolding in the Middle East.
