Sure, Michael Sam was SEC co defensive player of the year. A top draft prospect this spring for the NFL. He's 6'1" and 250 pounds of offensive game plan destroying ferocity.
But why I think he's brave is because he has let the world know he is gay ahead of the draft. Which will make him the first openly gay player in an NFL locker room.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. My hat is off to Michael. In a world where so many LGBT teens feel ostracized and cut off from society the more role models they have in fields where there previously was no one openly out of the closet can only help.
