Right wing mega thread of mega nuttery

Based on suggestions that I just create a master thread to compile these various things here we go.

So, how should we start?

How about the latest Breitbart evidence that Obama is about to shove all the gun owners into prison camps?

Basically, the Ohio National Guard did a training simulation where they respond to a terrorist attack by some radicals worried about their right to bear arms. And that is supposedly proof that the death camps are right around the corner.

In an effort to support this idea the Family Research Council declared that “When you look back at incidents of domestic terrorism in this country, it’s not done by right-wing, conservative people or organizations, it’s done by left-wing extremists.” Never mind that this is a completely made up fact relying on imaginary statistics.

Next up we have Ben Carson of Fox News who really likes this Putin fellow and what he's doing with Russia.

Quote:

As secular progressives try to remove all vestiges of God from our society, let us remember the godly principles of loving our fellow man, caring about our neighborhoods, developing our God-given talents to the utmost so that we become valuable to the people around us, and maintaining high principles that govern our lives. Our Judeo-Christian values led this nation to the pinnacle of the world in record time. If we embrace them, they will keep us there.

While we Americans are giving a cold shoulder to our religious heritage, the Russians are warming to religion. The Russians seem to be gaining prestige and influence throughout the world as we are losing ours. I wonder whether there is a correlation.

---------------------------

Next up we have Gary Bauer who seems to find it unusual that the Obamas care so much about gay people when they are so few in number. Oh and equal rights are now "new rights."

Quote:

So all a man has to do is tell the country that he is sexually attracted to other men and Michelle Obama is proud of that. What a country we are becoming! Does anyone in the leadership of the Republican Party have enough courage to seize the moment? Obama and his cronies are obsessing over 3% of the population. He and Attorney General Holder are unilaterally giving them new rights and benefits. The GOP should ask Obama when he intends to pay some attention to the hard-working moms and dads who fear for their jobs and who are trying to shield their children from an increasingly debased, anything goes culture.

The Family Research Council is back with this little nugget that same sex marriage will be worse for the nation than slavery.

Quote:

This ruling is another example of the deep betrayal of a judicial system infected with activist judges who are legislating from the bench. If these judges want to change duly enacted laws passed by the people and their representatives, they should resign their life-time appointments to the bench and run for the state legislature or Congress. Judge Heyburn is elevating his own ideology over that of three-quarters of Kentucky voters who voted to preserve marriage in their constitution as it has always been defined.

This ruling comes at a time when the consequences of marriage redefinition are mounting. Increasingly, Americans are being forced to finance and celebrate unions that not only step on free speech and religious liberty but also deny children a mom and a dad. Rather than live-and-let-live, this court by redefining marriage will create a level of inequality that has never been seen in our country as people are forced to suppress or violate the basic teachings of their faith.

-----------------------

Next up is The Liberty Council who have some interesting ideas on how allowing gay marriage is just like not allowing interracial marriage.

Quote:

Loving [reference to Loving Vs Virginia], like the other cases addressing restrictions upon the right to marry, was aimed at preserving the right to enter into the union of one man and one woman by removing agenda-driven obstacles that had been improperly engrafted onto the union. Those seeking to overturn laws such as Utah’s and Colorado’s that memorialize marriage as the union of one man and one woman are now trying to engraft another agenda-driven obstacle onto the institution. Actually, they are seeking more than that. They are seeking to replace the institution with their own agenda-driven proposal.

Get that? Allowing more people to marry is placing an obstacle to marriage because......shut up.
