Cold Fusion Zero Point Energy Conspiracy

Hypothesis: Nuclear fusion is a hoax theory. This means that cold fusion is a false theory. The actual heat generation in what has been mislabeled as cold fusion could be real though:

"In the Fleischmann and Pons experiments, the rate of inferred excess heat generation was in the range of 10–20% of total input, though this could not be reliably replicated by most researchers.[131]" -- http://ift.tt/1ga8XPB

Notice the "most researchers" in the Wikipedia article. This means that some researchers (at least one) actually succeeded in replicating the heat generation.

So, then, if the heat generation is real, then what actual physical principle is it based on? Consider the Casimir effect:

"In quantum field theory, the Casimir effect and the Casimir–Polder force are physical forces arising from a quantized field. ... This force has been measured, ..." -- http://ift.tt/PUD4ez

And here is possibly gatekeeper disinfo:

"Alternatively, a 2005 paper by Robert Jaffe of MIT states that "Casimir effects can be formulated and Casimir forces can be computed without reference to zero-point energies. They are relativistic, quantum forces between charges and currents. The Casimir force (per unit area) between parallel plates vanishes as alpha, the fine structure constant, goes to zero, and the standard result, which appears to be independent of alpha, corresponds to the alpha → infinity limit," and that "The Casimir force is simply the (relativistic, retarded) van der Waals force between the metal plates."[15]" -- http://ift.tt/1lHma42

So, what's the problem with the 2005 paper? It's upside down logic! It's the van der Waals forces that are Casimir effects, not the other way around!

In most materials, the Casimir forces and the electromagnetic forces form a stable equilibrium. In so-called "cold fusion" materials, the balance between the forces is unstable, leading to atoms oscillating within the material, which produces heat. This heat generation has been mistakingly, deliberately or not, claimed to be caused by a cold form of fusion, when it's actually a result of vacuum energy, a.k.a. zero point energy.
