Should self-loathing homosexuals be offered state-assisted suicide?

When it comes to circumstances similar to this case my first instinct is to ask: "if you suffer so much that you want to die why haven't you killed yourself already. Why, if you want to die, do you need someone to do it for you?"

It's understandable why people suffering from diseases such as ALS cannot kill themselves since their ability to move could be compromised to the point that they need help to accomplish the most basic of tasks (eventually they can't even breath on their own). They would need help to end their lives and it's understandable why people shouldn't be punished for doing so if their life has become unbearable and might even become more awful.

In comparison i get the impression that the individual in the video isn't actually serious about wanting to die as for all i can see he should be able to do that on his own. Getting the state to help him with it seems more like a cry for help and a desire for validation. Killing yourself is often seen as a moral wrong, so having the state help him would make it seem like it's a "reasonable reason to kill yourself" as opposed to a pathetic or immoral reason.

On the other hand perhaps the state should just hand out suicide pills to anyone that wants them for any (and no) reason whatsoever, or at least everyone above the age of 18 of course. People are already allowed to purchase cigarettes to slowly kill themselves through lung cancer (and as a bonus, they also get to clog up the public health care system with their smoking related health problems).
