1,7 million Poles were deported after the Soviet invasion.



I cannot find what happened to the survivors? Did they make their way back like the German POW's? Or did they become Soviet citizens?



EDIT:



This was apparently a continuation of Tsarist policy. There were previous mass expulsions of Polish people.
