Francis Collins -- anything bad happen in last 5 years?

In 2009, President Obama nominated Francis Collins to be the next director of the National Institutes of Health. This caused some minor controversy, as Collins, as well as being an eminent scientist, is also a committed Christian. Some prominent atheists were concerned that Collins' beliefs might interfere with his duties at the NIH.

Here is Sam Harris, writing in 2009 just before the appointment:

... At the time of this writing, Collins seems destined to be the next director of the National Institutes of Health. One must admit that his credentials are impeccable: he is a physical chemist, a medical geneticist, and the former head of the Human Genome Project...

Like most Christians, Collins believes in a suite of canonical miracles, including the virgin birth and literal resurrection of Jesus Christ...

Collins has written that “science offers no answers to the most pressing questions of human existence” and that “the claims of atheistic materialism must be steadfastly resisted.” One can only hope that these convictions will not affect his judgment at the NIH... Must we really entrust the future of biomedical research in the United States to a man who believes that understanding ourselves through science is impossible, while our resurrection from death is inevitable?

Has there been any controversy with Collins and the NIH in the last 5 years that anyone is aware of?
