I have known Ministers who go to Ivy League Seminary and finish with the title of Rev. Dr. So you might think such a person would seek out a fashionable and rich church with many endowments. Imagine the surprise to visit the church of their choice and find a very poor neighborhood and struggling finances. I had this experience in 1980 and I thought maybe it was a phase this person was going through. But the person made the Church a life work and became an important figure in the community until passing in 2012. I am still amazed. RIP .
