This is not about the movie, it's about a myth in the movie. There was mention made that FDR had made certain arrangements to keep his disability a secret from the American public. Problem is they already knew before he became President. However, there were few people who didn't know someone with polio. It was no more an issue for the White House than, say, being black is today.



Oh wait...



Anyway, he never ordered the press to not take pictures of him moving from wheel chair to the podium when he addressed Congress on Dec. 8th, 1941. The cameramen in those days simply a lot more class than the present batch.
