Free & Equal will host the United We Stand Festival Tour kicking off at UCLAs Pauley Pavilion on May 10th, 2014. The UWS Festival tour will showcase music as well as panels of musicians, actors, writers, journalists, and other speakers discussing key issues such as: The Patriot Act, NDAA, NSA, war on drugs, drones, foreign policies, GMO, Internet freedom, election reform and more. The events will be recorded and broadcast globally. The Festival will start at UCLA and continue on a 10-city university tour. The momentum of the tour will help unite and empower voters and build a base of supporters for young people running for local office in 2014. Our Free & Equal Debate initiatives and Election Assistant app will also help support new candidates for office, especially those running for Congressional seats. Our confirmed roster of musicians who support political and social activism includes: Public Enemywith Chuck D, Flavor Flav, DJ Lord and Professor Griff, Founders of Wu-Tang Clan; with Cappadonna, U-God, and Masta Killa, Rooftop Revolutionaries, Playing For Change, A-ALikes, Saving Abel, Golden State, Tatiana Moroz and many more. |
No matter how you stand on the issues, it all looks quite reasonable until you notice that, besides Abby Martin and Ben Swann, the list of invited "speakers" also includes Richard Gage and Luke Rudkowski. AE911Truth are already proudly advertising this on their Facebook page.
While the people who run this event appear to do their best to appeal to the young by using left catchphrases ("revolution", "occupy", etc.), it's worth noting that the founder of "Free & Equal", one Christina Tobin, actually is quite the opposite of "left", as she seems to be a no taxes, no government, no gun-control kind of libertarian.
Here's Tobin letting Gage spread his gospel on her podcast in June 2013. She seems very impressed ("fantastic website" ... "everything you say is so logical" ... "get the truth out there about 9/11"). At one point towards the end she mentions the "Creature from Jekyll Island", the "elites" and "intentionally supressed" technology...
Considering all of that, I'm kind of surprised that Billy Corgan is not on the festival line-up (yet).
