I've got a USB keyboard, and it doesn't work until Windows (XP) has loaded. So just as an example, if the computer is shut down incorrectly, I can never "hit any key to skip" the disk check.* Or actually I can hit all the keys I want, they just don't do anything.
How do I get my computer to boot with working USB so that it recognizes my keyboard?
* Just an example - I tend to want the disk check to run during bad shutdowns, especially when the disk is as aged as mine currently is.
