Community paramedics

Not exactly certain which forum this belongs in, but i'm sure the mods can handle that. .. So in light of all the complaints regarding Obamacare, I thought i'd share a recent news article indicating the benefits of adopting a "community paramedic program" that might save us all a bundle. Seems to me, keeping repeat visitors out of emergency rooms would be a great way to start decreasing the overall cost to consumers that are in turn forced to pay for those who cannot afford emergency room care. Afterall, what do most low income people do when their physician decides to take a two week vacation, or don't provide afterhours visits, while their child comes down with a simple cold? > emergency room. Thoughts and other idea's, outside the ACA, that might help conserve medical resources would be well appreciated.
