News re:stem cells produced by exposing regular cells to acid may be error/fraudulant

Last month, news/a paper came out of Japan on using acid exposure to successfully turn regular cells into stem cells and was enthusiastically jumped on by the press and tracked for application/verification by scientists in the field. The results so far seem to be that the paper is at best errant and likely fraudulant. I, as always, defer to Derek Lowe for details and further comment:
