Refutations of PUA claims

If you have ever googled "How to get a girlfriend" or something of that kind (and which heterosexual guy hasn't done that at least once?) you rather quickly end up on pick-up artist (PUA) sites. They tend to present pretty much the same story: The PUA was a lonely virgin, but he studied evolutionary psychology or something of the like, went out to bars and clubs and now is an expert who is willing to share his secret knowledge for a handsome fee. Typically they include a bit of woo like neurolinguistic programming.



I'd be interested in reading refuations of their claims and beliefs (they tend to believe pretty much the same thing). Are there any good such available?
