Naturalnews accuses TED of 'corporate junk science'

I've seen various friends posting this article from the fine purveyors of quackery naturalnews around facebook in the past couple of days. Thankfully, and to my relief, plenty of other friends have responded pointing out how ridiculous the article is.

I thought I'd post it up for some dissection and commentary by the ever-informed jref audience :) You can almost hear him foaming at the mouth....

It contains so much spurious information, non-sequitors and so many logical fallacies, which we've come to expect from this website, but even so this is particularly impressive. It's hard to know where to start when responding to people who believe this kind of blatant nonsense...

Quote:

Allow me to be the first to announce that TED is dead. Why? Because the group that organizes so-called "TED talks" has been thoroughly hijacked by corporate junk science and now openly rejects any talks about GMOs, food as medicine, or even the subject of how food can help prevent behavioral disorders in children. All these areas of discussion are now red-flagged from being presented on any TED stage.

That's quite an opener...so I checked on TED.com yesterday and lo and behold, the first top left-hand video on the site was entitled 'Food As Medicine'. Doesn't sound like the kind of censorship Mike Adams would have you believe...

I could post endless examples, there's at least one in every paragraph, but to be honest you may as well go and have a read yourself if you want a good chuckle. :D
