A liberal pipe dream....

After the recent election, the Republicans hold the US Senate by 52-48, assuming the Republican wins the Louisiana runoff and counting the two independents as Democrats. What if two R's flipped to D in the next Senate, which takes office before the President does? That would make it 50-50, with sitting Veep Joe Biden as the tie-breaker. They could at least confirm Garland to Scotus, couldn't they?

The most likely flips would be Susan Collins and ... well, I don't know. Kelly Ayotte was defeated, so that seat will be D anyhow, as will Mark Kirk's in IL.

Hey, gotta keep my hopes up somehow!!
