Whenever one of these horrible mass shootings takes place, it always seems to lead to a lot of talk about guns and a lot of folks indicating a belief that we need to do a better job of helping people with mental illnesses. The gun debate is, of course, being handled in a few threads already. I'd like some input on the other issue.
How do you think the United States should change its policies on dealing with the mentally ill? This need not be limited to preventing violent crime, though that's the aspect things that got me thinking about this.
