cap social security at 2500 a month. Everyone who worked 10 years or more and averaged that amount or less gets that. People earning more than that would get paid on a formula of average (2500\average amount earned)*2500. I do understand that this would not cover people that were once wealthy but are no longer so an asset check would then be used to calculate benefits assets 55k and below would get 2500. Amounts higher than that would be calculated 25k/total assets.
I realize that my IRS idea was not well received but here you go. A plan that would save social security plus guarantee a living wage for everyone who worked at least 10 years.
