Politically institutionalized multiculturalism is wicked

I know this is old (four years is old in the Internet world), but it is still relevant.

Postmodern peace-keeping

This is just wrong on so many levels...

First, is there any evidence that he is correct that secularism fosters social unrest? The most highly developed countries are either secular states, or very close to being so. Meanwhile Iraq which politically is split into three big ethno-religious communities (Kurds, Shiites, Sunnis) plus a few smaller ones isn't exactly a society with social harmony. The same goes for Syria.

Secularism as concieved during the Age of Enlightenment and the following centuries, and embodied in the American consitution as well as in other countries (in principle or in practice) is the best way to a harmonius society. The alternative is just evil. Yet I can see why it has support in some corners during this postmodern age. Hopefully the postmodern age will be followed by a skeptical and scientific age.
