The science fiction writer Ann C. Crispin, generally known as 'AC' has died at the age of 63, after losing a prolonged struggle with cancer.
She was probably best known for her work within the Star Trek, Star Wars (the Han Solo novels) and V properties though she wrote a number of other novels, novelised a couple of films and created her own series (Starbridge).
One of her Trek novels (Yesterday's Child) was the first original Trek novel to make the NYT bestsellers list.
She was also very active within the SFWA and co-created the Writers Beware project, to warn new writers about the scams prevalent within the industry.
