Their child care rebate cut by 20%. Oh no.....
I think that the welfare net is generally well placed in Australia, but things like this (and superannuation tax breaks which disproportionally benefit the very rich) make my blood boil. The richest person in Australia can have 30% of their child care costs covered by the taxpayer. I heard some child care lobby group on the radio blast this reduction in welfare to the filthy rich, calling it a broken promise.
Grow a pair Australian government and get serious about middle- and upper-class welfare.
