This site, which appears to be a contemporary account of the execution of Mary Queen of Scots says that when her ladies in waiting were crying over what was about to happen she turned to them and said "Ne crie vous, j'ay prome pour vous". My French isn't very good, and translation software can't do better than "Do you cry, I ay prome for you".
I'm assuming that this is something to do will non-standardised spelling, but I can't find a French word similar to "prome". Can any one help?
