Inadequate healthcare for asylum seekers

As our government continues the race to the bottom when it comes to treating asylum seekers like pawns in a political game we get a report that doctors working on Christmas Island are having trouble giving adequate standards of care to detainees on the island.

So now we're getting stories about doctors using flawed reporting programs and a lack of drugs for treatment, pregnent women suffering miscarriages from inadequate healthcare and bureaucratic rubbish causing life threatening delays to treatment.

What sort of standards should we give asylum seekers? The way I see it as long as they are our responsibility they should be given the same standard of treatment as everyone else.

One thing I would like to know from you guys in not-Australia is do your governments treat asylum seekers this badly?
