I have a kid.... another on the way. We well have to buy 3 new car seats in the next year. My wife demanded I replace the one in my car as it is expired.... I got one.
I don't buy that car seats expire.... I guess legally they do. But I'm not buying what I am seeing on the web, all the answers that I am getting.
Technology changers..... I guess. I'm sure care seats are safer then in the 1950's... or even 10 years ago..... But don't you reach a point where the technology changes are not making any major difference?..... And wouldn't we be close to that point now?
I have read the material wears down. How much does the material that a car seat is made of really where down? I have looked at mine and it seems perfectly fine.... Does normal use really cause fractures in the seat? The straps to become elastic? I am guessing very little...... and it would take a significant amount of time.
ughhhhh.... I have to conclude it's a money grab more then anything.
