The short and simple of it: Why people who believe in God, believe in God

Without a lot of thinking...no need for biology classes or evolutionary theories...the simplest of minds have learned that in the beginning, star matter had to do with how everything we see got its start. Then, we are a product of the mindless? Workings of that. And how many millions, billions or trillions of steps did it take for us to be? And that`d just *us*. Thats not counting earth, protective shield, distance from sun, water, air, cleansing of water and air, the rain cycle and dew...i could go on and on. And that isnt counting why it also happened to be that there was/is grass, trees, clay etc for shelter....furs, and plant stuff for clothing....stuff to eat...harmony and balance in nature between all organic matter and a plentiful supply to keep things living............and all this happened for absolutely no reason...which includes modern times where we have discovered and made use of concrete, steel, glass, corrective lenses, x-rays, radio and microwaves, harnessing electricity, tv, wireless communication, computers, HVAC, jets, rocketships to space where we can look back on ourselves (i could make a list a mile long of things that `just so happen` to exist...just because it can and does?(as my agnostic cousin used to say to me)...with absolutely no creator or puppetmaster involved? And the most simpleminded of people, without perhaps even entertaining a mile long list of stages and marvels of creation, simply knows in their heart its illogical to think this all just happened with no superior `being`?(for lack of a better description, who we simply call God) involved? Just look around your house at what all you see...look at big fancy city skylines...look at your icecream sundae...then look out to space considering the vastness, the voids you see, and stardust and stars. Then lay in bed before you go to sleep and wonder. [Keep in mind only what i have said, and not any relevance regarding the Holy Bible.`
