Recently a woman was charged with murder because her infant was found to test positive for prescription drugs. The public is predictably outraged and commenters are calling for forced sterilization among other draconian measures. Where is the current science regarding breast milk and drugs? What I could find was awfully sketchy.

I am skeptical because the same police in Citrus Heights CA a few years back claimed that a mother overdosed her toddler on pot. I can't find a link to that story but I remember it causing a similar cry of outage. The LD50 for THC is to consume 1500 lbs in 15 minutes.
