Our subject today is one Dwayne Wynn, a black homeowner in Miami-Dade. On Tuesday, Wynn was standing and talking with his across-the-street neighbor in the neighbor's yard, when he observed a vehicle drive up, pausing to leave something in Wynn's mailbox. After the vehicle moved on, Wynn crossed the street to see what had been left in his mailbox, finding a business card advertising one of those house-flipping scams. Junk mail, no big deal.
That's when the vehicle that had left the card came roaring back, the driver getting out and screaming "That's not your property, ************! I was down the street watching you!" In an extended, profanity-laced tirade, the driver demanded back the card that he had left in the mailbox, reiterating that it was "my property", and accusing Wynn of being a nosy neighbor stealing someone else's mail. Then the driver pulled a gun on him.
After arguing for a little while with the man pointing a gun at him, it was cameraphone time. Wynn's video caught the man claiming to be an ex-Navy Seal and the former "head of the SWAT team in Hillsborough County". Wynn remains perfectly calm throughout and doesn't say much, but the angry man's expletive-rich screed goes on and on, with the man repeatedly declaring that Wynn is lying about owning the home. As he gets back into his car and prepares to leave, the man - who is white - says that it's "no wonder why you have people like you getting shot", and then belts out an n-word for good measure as he pulls away.
The angry driver has been arrested and currently stands charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (ooooops!).
