Why do we allow private ownership of automobiles? Shouldn't driving be left solely to trained professionals making only necessary government-approved trips?

Statistics show over 34,000 automobile deaths in the USA in 2012 alone - over 6 times the combined total of US combat deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. Clearly licensing and registration and regulations have failed to put an end to automobile fatalities, isn't it time to end this bloody experiment?

I bet the typical response will be "Freedum! The gubmint can't take away my car!". Sorry, but your freedom accidentally kills tens of thousands every single year - nearly 50 times as many as are accidentally killed by guns annually. If you really need to travel by automobile you can hire a professional driver, like Michael Bloomberg does. We must end this carnage NOW!
