Proliferation/Spread/Ratio of iPhones to Android Phones.

I know from past experience that Fandroids might get butthurt about this, and there will be inevitable cries of "Troll!" However...

In another thread, the subject of iPhone to Android phone ratios came up, and a figure of 2:1 for Android was sourced. I'm not going to argue or dispute those figures (for reasons given elsewhere), but based on personal experience (yes, I dare!!!) in the UK, I hardly ever see an Android phone in the wild - not compared to the amount of iPhones I see on a daily basis. This got me to thinking about those figures - in a roundabout way.

Then, today, I was browsing an article on Cracked.com which featured screenshots of fictitious text conversations between superheroes, and they were all displayed in a mock iOS format. I then jumped on to Safari on my iPhone and Googled 'text conversation' in image search. Attached is a screencap (evidence - not anecdote!!!) of the results. At a glance, it would appear that roughly 90% of images returned were iOS based. I find it very strange that given that Android phones are apparently outselling the iPhone (worldwide), and that my search term was broad enough to include all kinds of text formats, that the apparent text standard is iOS.

Is this result because I'm in the UK? Surely that shouldn't matter. Anyone else want to try?
