Dim policitican, Lee Bright, the next Tea Party superstar

Are you all curious as to whom the GOP wants to replace Lyndsay Graham with for daring to keep America from going off a cliff?

His name is Lee Bright and he is about as cuddly as a cactus mated with pepper spray.

Sure we are.

It’s not politically correct to say this, but we’ve got a lot of people who won’t work. And they won’t work because we’ll provide their food, and we’ll provide their housing, and we’ll provide some spending money. We’ve all seen it, the folks in line who are using [food stamps], yet they’ve got the nicest nails and the nicest pocketbook and they get the nicest car.

I don't know how politically correct that is but I know that is largely factually incorrect. At least in my experience.

There’s people that are mentally ill, there are people that are disabled. I understand that, though I still think that’s the role of the Church to take care of those folks.

Oh sure. We should totally trust corrupt institutions based on the incoherent ramblings of itinerant ancient sheep herders to take care of the disabled. That couldn't possibly backfire.

Oh you're an atheist and have no legs....well too bad. I guess you should have loved Jesus a little bit more.

But able-bodied people, if they don’t work, they shouldn’t eat

Oh, I forgot. Everyone on food stamps just don't want to work. It isn't that there is a dearth of jobs. They are just lazy!

Has he written any laws? Oh you betcha!

Bright’s S. 102 would attempt to simply declare the federal Obamacare law null in South Carolina — a blatantly unconstitutional move — and make it a crime for any federal official who knowingly “attempts to enforce any aspect of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” a crime, subject to “up to one year in prison.”

Incredible. Make it a crime to enforce federal law. A law designed to help those in dire situations. I'm thinking Lee Bright is the guy that thinks the idea of Santa giving naughty children coal is way too easy and instead advocates murdering their pets in front of them. That'll teach 'em.

Oh, he also opposes funding rape crisis centers.

And, incredibly enough, thinks rape victims should be forced to carry their child.
