Nomonhan Japanese 120mm howitzers.

The 13th artillery regiment of the triangular "special" 23rd Division of the IJA had type 38 120mm howitzers at Nomonhan in 1939. Coox,Drea and most recently Goldman say they had twelve. However crew sizes suggest twenty four of these guns. I think twenty four. Ness in his recent two volume Rikugun suggests but does not say twenty four.
Thoughts anyone?

Note the usual divisional gun by 1941 was 105 or 150mm. The above unit got 150s shortly after Nomonhan. The 120 was not a good gun by 1939,no gunshield etc. The 23rd had a unique organization.
