It seems that whenever the desktop PC plugged into my router goes to sleep that the wifi from the router stutters - e.g. Amazon streamed movies or iPlayer seem to buffer for a long time. I can't give the router model as it's provided by my ISP (Sky) but just assume the cheapest piece of junk you can.
Questions: is this scenario plausible or something like confirmation bias?
I'm sticking with sky until the first FTTC becomes available so how about a decent bridge router? I.e something I connect to the Sky router via cable then everything else will connect to that. This also gives me an added comfort factor that I'll have a known model and can check for vulns myself. Any recommended models? Any other suggestions?
