1. We have several fans around the house and I sometimes dismantle them for cleaning. They all have reverse-thread nuts holding the blades on the spindle, to prevent the nuts loosening while the device spins I presume.
Ditto my petrol weed-hacker and, I think, my electric drill. Maybe the angle-grinder too, and others?
Why don't they just design the machines to rotate the other way, so that the unwary don't try to turn the nuts the wrong way, lock up nuts, strip threads and so on?
I presume there's a good reason ;)
