Just went through this article, and its follow-up.
In short, the articles state that because of the Law of Accelerated Returns, the world might change more in the next 30 years than it has changed in the last thousand. And we are most probably going to see the rise of Superintelligent AI, which will bring with it advantages and pitfalls.
I haven't read all the linked resources in the articles; will be doing so in the future. But this just seemed utterly fascinating.
