This thread is NOT about if people should or should not own guns.
The reason why I am asking this is because Colt is in financial difficulty and was discussing this on a conservative forum. I make the contention that, even if we are not there, there is a point of market saturation. As a result, I d not think the present number of gun companies will be economically viable.
A good firearm does not wear out very soon and you can keep it for years or decades. While there are some new innovations, an older weapon still works just fine.
I own several firearms myself. I work in a semi-law enforcement field.
I have three presently. A Ruger P345, a Springfield XD-45, and Browning Buckmaster (.22 target to allow me to practice without spending too much money.) I may eventually get a Springfield XD-45 Compact as a more concealable weapon.
