If you haven't noticed by now, the "Walking as a woman through New York" video has spawned countless spoofs and imitations, but this one was one of the few that actually seems to raise a genuine separate issue.
I thought the phrasing of "dressed like a homosexual" was a little odd (as clearly homosexuals dress in all kinds of ways; I suppose "stereotypical homosexual might have been more accurate) but nonetheless, this video shows how aggressively people perceived as being homosexual can be treated. What I found striking was how physically aggressive and violent several of the interactions were. This video again raises the issue of "minorities" appearing to do most of the street harassing. I don't have any conclusions or statements about that, though.
I wonder what it is about encountering someone displaying perceived traits of homosexuality that triggers the urge for physical aggression and violence in some men.
