Anglolawyer becomes PM, obviously.
Francesca is Chancellor of the Exchequer: noserious opposition.
I am torn between awarding myself the Dept. of Environment, or the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. I think what I'll do is become deputy PM but strip the Dept of all the powers it has other than Planning. My primary task will be sorting out the damn mess which Planning has become over the last 20 years.
The Scottish Office is likely to be the most contentious one. I'm thinking Geni. Rolfe need not apply.
The Don needs a good role. I think he may be most useful as Minister of Arts, or whatever it's called these days (Culture, Communications & Creative Industries), but I'm open to suggestions.
We need a good Science Minister, whose role will be hugely more important than currently. In fact, I'm wondering whether to make the Science Dept part of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and make the Science Minister the Deputy PM too.
The Home Office. Hmmmmmm........I want a real liberal in charge of that. If no-one puts their head above the parapet, I'll give Anglolawyer that department too.
The Foreign Office needs a good diplomat. This forum is very short of such talent, certainly amongst the Brits. I'd have Library lady, or KatieG, or Orphia, if they were Brits, but they're not.
If you feel you have something to contribute towards the running of the UK, or if you would like to nominate someone for a position of power within the new regime, feel free to put forward your suggestions.
